False case against school

Recently in a school, a few kids who had not paid their fee for 3 months despite repeated reminders to guardians, were called out and held in the basketball court (5000sqft) for around 3 hrs. They were to be sent home by buses but due to sone delay the buses didnt come. The kids had their bags, tiffin and water bottle with them. The court is open air and it was raining that day so the weather was pleasant. Kids ranged from class 2nd to 10th. When the kids strted to repeatedly getout of the court, the court was locked for 15-20 min and then the lock was opened and the kids put into the bus. In the meanwhile however, one guardian who has an enmity with school (as the school didnt promote his son from 11th to 12th std as he had failed the final exams and multiple re-tests) came and clicked some photos of the kids in the court. He has bribed the local media to present the case as a human rights violation of kids and saying kids were 'jailed' for 3 hrs. Now, a 4 member committee of ADM,SDM,BSA, SP are looking into it. School didnt do anything wrong. They didnt lock up the kids for 3 hrs, the kids werent hungry or thirsty, and this whole scheme is the revenge plot of one disgruntled parent. In a preliminary enquiry the SDM found the school innocent and the SP was also of the same view. assuming the committee finds some fault in the school's actions - 1. What kind of penalty can the Vice Principal and Principal expect - monetary or non-monetary? As in will a fine suffice or will they be dragged to jail? 2. Will they be asked to resign? 3. Can their travel outside state be restricted? Suppose they want to resign from school and leave state, will there be restriction on it? 3. What is the best way for the school to tackle this scenario? Thanks in advance for your help
