Respected Ma'am,

Phishing is a cyber crime which steals the data of a person for example like the login credentials, your card information, etc. In this what happens is that the attacker makes you feel that it a trusted entity and then you are duped. For example it tricks you in opening an e-mail, or a message or a link which gives away your private information or leads to the installation of malware or the freezing of system as a part of ransomware attack.

In India under Information and Technology Act, 2000, phishing is punishable with penalty up to one crore rupees under section 43 of the Act.

I hope I am able to help.

Regards
