This weekly rest day is not meant to be unpaid. It is considered a paid holiday for the worker.

One day of leave with wages is earned for every 20 days of work.

This leave is separate from holidays and is calculated based on the previous calendar year's work.

In essence, the Factories Act ensures that workers receive a day of rest for a certain number of working days, and it also provides for the carrying over of unused leave.

It also mandates that workers should not work for more than 10 consecutive days without a weekly rest.
