No one can refuse to accept any coin or note which is the legal Currency of the nation as it is legal tender issued by the RBI.
"If the banks or traders are refusing to accept the legal money, let them give it in writing so that one can approach the RBI and ombudsman to take legal action,”
In many states shopkeepers or service providers refuse to accept a national currency (i.e. Rs 1 & Rs 10 coin usually).
However, no one has the right to refuse it as the government of India promises to pay the value of the currency to the bearer.
According to RBI rules, those who refuse to accept the Indian currency can be liable for action under section 124A (sedition) of IPC.
How to file case against person not accepting any nationalised currency:
1.) Go to jurisdictional police station
2.) Show police the currency that was rejected
3.) Give details of person who rejected the coin
4.) Cite the RBI's rules and let them know that it amounts to sedition
5.) Get FIR lodged
6.) At last, Police will launch investigation
People must start filing cases immediately and unless and until that momentum is set, things will not change
Hope It Helps
