Death of my elder brother

Recently my elder brother died because of heart attack.  He is having wife and daughter (ofcourse they are living seperately, not divorced). All (fixed) properties are registered on my father's name, he is still alive. We are hindus. Can you please tell me if there is any right to my sister-in-law and her daughter  on my father's properities? If there is any right on properties then how much it is?

My father is having plans to give money instead of properties.  But we dont have trust on them as they will comeback to us with in a few years. Would like to know what law says and how to resolve these issues?

if the property of ur father is self acquired then as of NOW PREVAILING HINDU MARRIAGE ACT, She cannot claim it.

if the property is self acquired then ur father can deal it as he want ,

if the property is ancester then Widow or ur brother daughter can claim right in such property for the share that her father/Husband (means ur elder bother)has.
