Complaint on the basis of a photocopy of an agreement

Complaint on the basis of a Photocopy of an agreement

What is the value of a Photocopy of a document (agreement), the original of which is not in existence, and which is denied ever being executed by one of the parties (the accussed) ?

What is the implication in a case u/s 138 NIA is filed by the complainant  claiming recovery of an amount based on such a document ? The accused denies to have executed that document even though the copy of his signatures  seem to have been transposed/superimposed there?

In the absence of original, a photocopy can be used to corroborate the evidence but the reliability ? burden of proof will lie on the party who relies on it.
