Compensation for false criminal case

A government employee was levelled false allegations knowingly by the authirities and implcated in to a criminal case and tried their best to deprive him to get  documents for his defence (thorugh RTI Act 2005). After 15 years of trial, the Hon Court found all the charges to be false and acquitted him.

Is there any provision in the law for the victim to claim compensation from the conerned authoities for the physical , financial (payment of legal fees stc for his defence and stagnant salary due to non promotion  and lower superannuation benefits) harrassment  and mental agony for the intentional false allegations  levelled by the authirities ? Please elborate.

Yes you can file a case against the concerned authorities for malicious prosecution. As far as departmental promotion and other benefits are concerned you have to approach CAT for it. Limitation period has to be kept in mind before approaching Court.
Consult for other legal remedies.
