Common pathway problem

Hello,my mom bought a 10cents land in kovillambakkam, nanmangalam village in 2008 from her grandfather.he has a land near by ours.for both the lands there is a common pathway which has given by grandfather to village board in 1994 by written document.the village board has created road until grandfather's land .there is a two medium size teak wood tree in the centre of the road(common pathway)he is not allowing to take the trees.so there is no road for my mom's land we can't sell the land without proper pathway.pls any legal advice
