Cash receipt

Dear Sir,

I have paid an amount of Rs1,40,000/- to a Builder as an installment for the booked flat and they have given me a Cash Receipt. Is It valid document for proof of payment made to the builder in  if  I go for legally in future in case of any problem arise in between.

 

Please help me and guide me in this matter.

it is not a proper cash receipt. the Revenue stamp is not affixed on it.

 

The builder must be asking you to pay VAT and Service Tax. Thus, VAT and Service Tax Registration Number should be printed on the receipt.

 

The signatory has not mentioned his/her name and designation also.
