can WhatsApp details be ordered by court without trial.

Can High-court ordered WhatsApp details in a case where the married guy charged his wife to misuse his Facebook Id and mentioned the girl spent her nights on WhatsApp chat. They have filled a divorce case as well parallel to above case. The girl and her family first filled the divorce case as she was mistreated after marriage and the guy left to Canada within weeks from marriage. The girl was called to Mumbai police station and was told that they've an order from High Court to get her WhatsApp details, as, as per the guy's family the girl shared the guy's Facebook ID over the WhatsApp chat to her friends. Actually the guy used to login to his Facebook account on the girl's phone when they were together. Can court really ordered such things without trial? Or what can be done in this case?
