Appear in person

Dear lawyers,

My company has filed a writ petition in which I am a respondent. I'd like to 'appear in person' in the case. 

Are there any books available those can help me to understand the entire procedure of "appear in person"?

Yes there are plenty of books available that will help you, and you must understand that you are not free to speak your mind but you must follow the court procedure. Sometimes we all feel that we can do better than a lawyer but remember a lawyer will present the case backed by citation.
