Ajmal Amir Kasab Trial: Kasab requests court to hang him

Lone Pakistani terrorist captured in the 26/11 attacks, Ajmal Amir Kasab, today told the designated court that he wants to be punished in this world and hence should be hanged.

The only gunman on trial for the terrorist attacks on the metropolis, who had on Monday pleaded guilty to his involvement in the carnage, told designated Judge M L Tahilyani that he has not been pressurised or forced by anyone to confess.

‘I am not under any pressure and want the court to hang me,’ he said.

These versions of Kasab, whose confession has given a new twist to the ongoing trial, came after his lawyer Abbas Kazmi informed the court that his client was being tortured by some people for the past few days.

When judge Tahiliyani asked the accused if he wanted to say anything, Kasab said he wanted to be punished for his crime in this world only and that he doesn’t want the same from the Almighty.
