termination after submission of resignation

Hi, I was working with MNC in Bangalore.  After I have resigned on May 16th giving 2 month notice period as per company rule, which was not accepted till yesterday, but yesterday they sent a mail saying they are relieving me from May 31st and I will be paid only basic as per rule.  I was ready to serve full notice period.  But is this fair.  My basic is only 30% of salary.  Is there a legal remedy??

The MNC management has legally chosen the cheapest option in relieving you, if it is as per rules. Please refer to the rules of that MNC. If that is so, then no respite.
