One of my friend got selected in West Bengal State Govt service but he is worried about police verification. Actually last year in holi, he was picked up by local police while they were consuming alcohol. They were kept in local police lock up for 3 hours and after giving 180/- they got bail. Would it effect his job? Please let me know.

you are not clear with facts :-
(i) has he been formally arrested. In that case FIR /DD has been written in thana.
(ii) Is there any police case pending.
(ii) Has he been simply let off after paying bribe.

In thana, his name was written in a diary and while realising, he has ti sign and give thumb impression.
