Job under sports quota awarded due to inter-departmental error — is termination possible?

I was appointed in the Education Department of Himachal Pradesh under the sports quota. The offer was initiated by the Department of Youth Services and Sports, which sent me a letter asking if I was interested in a job matching my qualification. I gave consent, and they forwarded my case to the Education Department. After proper document verification (degree, TET certificate, sports certificate), I received a government appointment letter and joined. I did not apply or request the job—it was offered by the department. Now, another sportsperson (from same sport) has filed a court case saying that the sport I represented is not listed by the Department of Personnel, and is using my appointment as a reference to claim a similar job in the Electricity Department. I have not received any notice or inquiry so far. My question is: Can my appointment be cancelled due to departmental miscommunication? What is the legal protection for someone like me who acted in good faith and was offered the job by the government itself? I seek guidance on whether I should be worried about my job or take any precautionary steps.

If you have not been informed anything about it by the department concerned or the court then you remain silent and watch for the developments

You can act only when you are required to do anything to defend your interests and until then it is pertinent that you maintain silence

Respcted Sir,

is there any legal protection if tomorrow department raise a question on my appointment?  Or I will lose my job

You cannot suffer due to department's inadequate knowledge of law or for giving you appointment due to the lapse on their side.

You can challenge it properly as per law.

Your appointment is valid and undoubtedly pakki, nothing to worry.
