Money given to promoter for land project

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have invested Rs. 1.78Lakhs and Rs. 1.80 Lakhs in two land projects with two promoters one office situated in Delhi and another in faridabad. I have just paid them 80% of the agreed money however no formal agreement I have entered with them. I have got all the receipts. I want to withdraw. My money due to personal reasons however they are reluctant to pay back my money. Can I engage police and extract the money from them or there is any other way and do I also get interest on them since I invested way back in 2011 if so then how it is calculated. Please suggest.

Police cannot be engaged rather you can file police complaint on the bases of fraud and misrepresentation etc.
