in consumer court we have an option to file a case self . even judge told me there is no nessacery of advocate .

it is better to engage an advocate . he will draft complaint and claim the necessary reliefs . since you have already filed complaint engage a local lawyer for arguments

It is suggested to engage a lawyer, as on legal front you have to face company lawyer who may counter your claim / case on legal or technical grounds.

Though as per rules, there is no necesity to engage lawyer in consumer forum but it is always better to engage because of many legal technicalities coming during the trial.
