Paying house tax

Dear all,
As we live in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh since 1993.
we live in a house (unclaimed property till date) from last more than 20 years and now we started paying house tax from last year, we have the ration card, gas connection electricity connection.
Now my family want to make construction on that property.
What should we do further for legally own that property.
please suggest.

on what paper you have possession on that house ?

on govt record, who are the owner of house ?

Contact and engage a local lawyer to file a suit in Civil Court for declaration (that you are the owner/title holder) of the property.

My father is a local body employee, and that house is near of my father work place, it was vacant, he was working there. so, we got the possession of that house on behalf of father service only, not by any authority, after some time my father written to the local authority to deduct the house rent as we are tenant, but in reply the concern authority reply that there are not any house in record so the authority cant deduct the rent, as we live in that house for a long time.
after government survey that house marked as my father property and that same local body issued house tax and water tax, which is paid by my father.
this is the all true story...
now please show me the right path.

You are living in the property, without knowing its owner, without paying rent, without searching the true owner of the property. Now you want to get its ownership.

Better search the true owner from the government records and get the title transfer in your name legally. Consult local lawyer.

It should have been government's vacant land illegally occupied by your father by bribing the local authority at that time and now you want to perfect the title by adverse possession on the basis of tax receipts, for this you want legal advise from experts here to regularise the wrong action. This concept will not be supported by experts here by giving you their valuable opinion.
