I was working in a big Indian MNC till dec’12. Attendance in this company is marked through their online portal and it can be marked for previous day as well. For eg. You can mark Monday’s attendance by Thursday also. My last 2 working days happened to be Monday and Tuesday. Somehow I forgot to mark attendance on my last 2 days. As my online account to mark attendance was deleted after my last working day I was not able to mark it. I informed this to HR who told me that she will communicate it to relevant team and get it correct and your salary will not be deducted in F & F. But when I received my F & F, LWB was marked not only for 2 days but last 4 days. They also included Saturday and Sunday in LWP and deducted me salary for 4 days. I communicated it to HR and exchanged several mails with HR as well as accounts department for this concern but they are not reversing LWP. If they deduct by salary for last 2 days its still acceptable for including weekend is not at all acceptable. Their explanation for it is that their software system is treating that you worked till Friday as your last attendance was marked on Friday only. I cannot part with my hard earned money if the company’s system is wrongly made. Please advise as to what legal action can I take against the company to get LWP reversal for at least weekend if not all 4 days. I have lost around 4 k in total for last 4 days.
