We are a residents of a Housing colony in Coimbatore. We wish to formally register a Residents Welfare Association.
For this purpose, we will be registering ourselves as a House Owners Association under Tamilnadu Societies Act, 1975 and Rules 1978.
Now we have the following questions:
a) Who can be the executive members & office bearers? Can we have the non-house owners (such as Spouse or other close family members of the Owner) for such posts?
b) Who can be a normal member, and what are the rights? Can we have the tenants / family members of Owner as such members, and have voting rights?
Please clarify.
