What is procedure to file reply to quashing petition u/s 482

Please guide me on the following situations of filing Reply to a Quashing Petition filed in the High Court u/s 482 Cr.PC.

Accused filed Quashing Petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court to quash the Criminal Complaint Case under IPC. Notice issued to the Complainant.

Which one of the following is the right procedure to file Reply to this Quashing Petition or both:-

1. Whether the Complainant should file an Application for taking on Record Reply;

2. whether the Complainant can file Reply directly with the Registry/Branch in the High Court after giving advance copy of Reply to the Accused.

Please also guide whether both are correct procedures to file reply?

And what are the circumstances when Reply can be filed directly with the Registry/Branch in the High Court and what are the circumstances when Reply can only be filed by moving Application for taking on record reply?
