I have sent an Apostilled Power Of Attorney in favor of my father from US. It does not have Indian consulate attestation as I learnt that step is redundant after India joined Hague convention in 2006. But the registrar refuses to accept Apostille certificate as valid (this is in Uttar Pradesh). Can someone please let me know the official gazzette notification which declared apostille as valid? Some blogs on internet mention Notification no. : L161 / 1 / 2003 in March 31st 2006 of MEA, but I do not find any such notification on e-gazzete. Thanks a lot!
