Vakalatnama

I have filed partition suit in civil court. In between one of the legal heir died. I had sent death certificate and died legal heirs name and age to my lawyer by post. Now my lawyer is asking me to come to the court to sign the affidvit. Can't the lawyer do it by himself. When I have given the vaklatmana to him he is authorized to sign on behaf of me. Kindly advise.

Giving vakalatnama means the lawyer will act in your case on behalf of you. He can't sign on affadivit as he not the party in the case. You are the party so you must sign the affadivit.
