I reside in Mumbai.
I have recently gifted my property to my mother, (via a gift deed), and want to transfer the share certificate (in my name) to my mother's name. The society asks Rs. 25,000 for this transfer, claiming that this is the fees. But, ours is not a sale, it is a gift deed, and that too, in my blood relation (mother). Can the soceity charge so much? Is there a way out, paying no transfer fees?
