Transfer of property

Dear learned lawyers,

 

Recently my friend bought a land after which he has some family problem, now he wants to transfer that property his sister name, should this be registred with stamp duty paid, or what is the available alternatives without undergoing registration process.

Your friend can transfer the questioned property to his sister by way of gift deed or sale deed but registration of gift/sale deed is required essential and without registration of gift/sale deed the transfer of said property would not be valid and legal.On both gift and sale deed stamp duty has to be paid which differs from State to State.
