Transfer of gas connection

i have a gas connection (Sivasagar, Assam) in my mother name who is presently staying in kolkatta, Now When I went to transfer of gas connection in my name the Gas Distributor is asking for the presence of my mother for signature, which is very difficult because she is very sick to travel. Now what option do I have ?
