If you don't want to change your surname in the school records, then it is very easy.  Sworn an affidavit and publish in the news paper.

for change of name there is a procedure stipulated by the government and long

you have to apply to the collector office through a letter, followed by affidavit why you want to change and they will issue a letter followed by notice of objection if any and the press department will issue a government order for change of name and you have to publish inthe newspaper about change of name finallly the name will be changed

but surname please verify with the collector office

after marriage wife surname will be automatically changes to husband but now the trend is that some ladies are remaining with there father surname as the goodwill and the reputation since her carrer development that name has a long standing touch
