i work in a autonomous body of C.Govt.i observed that in most of our place of works a rational duty system is not fallowed.the shift duty system is arranged as per the requirement or wish of the office/boss.i would like to know whether the factories act is applicable to govt employees who perform operational duties in 3/4 shifts a day? or is there any other specific law that can be applied to the above stated catogory of employees? our duties are including luch hour7.20 pattern,but in some shifts staff are engaged on duties such that we actually have to avail thetime un officially by reliving who ever available free during at that time.we brought to the notice of boss but no action is taken. kindly guide me
