Could anyone let me know if the below is true ? as my case is a direct/private complaint in court no fir no investigation

According to the amended provision of section 202 on receipt of any private complaint the Magistrate has to either inquire into the case himself or direct and investigation to be made by the Police Officer in a case where accused is residing at a place beyond the area in which the Magistrate exercise his jurisdiction.@@@@@@@@@@'
