The Supreme Court dismissed a petition seeking directions to CBI to interrogate Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for his alleged involvement in the murder of Haren Pandaya, the then Home Minister of Gujarat, who was assassinated in 2003.
A bench comprising Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan, Justice P Sathasivam and Justice B S Chauhan declined to interfere with Gujarat High Court judgment in which the petition of Mr Vithal Bhai Pandaya, father of Haren Pandaya was dismissed.
Mr Vithal Bhai Pandaya has been alleging that Mr Modi was involved in the murder of his son, who was the Minister in the Modi government.
The prosecution has, however, not been able to collect any evidence during the investigation indicating the involvement of Mr Modi in the conspiracy to eliminate his own Minister.
