Relinquishment deed - how this serves purpose here

sir
X owned some inherited and self acquired property.he is survived by wife , 2 son and daughter.
X passed away couple of years back and based on a relinquishment deed, property rights has been transferred to wife of X name.
if since this has been relinquished by the children themselves, will the children still has any rights on the property after mother demise ?
or will the children still be able to inherit it.then what sort of a difference will this relinquishment deed process actually make.
