By virtue of doctrine of adverse possession even if there was any defect in title that got corrected in your favour for all these 16 years your mother has been in continuous and uninterrupted peaceful possesssion of the land and to your knowledge no one claimed any right, title o rinterest in your property. Hence your title is clear and marketable. Since your mother recently transferred her interest in the property to you or in your name you are the absolute owner now.
