Regarding stamp papers

Dear Memnbers and Emonent Professionals,

I am a Practicing Professional and want to know a Small Information regarding the papers to be attached as Stamp Duty.

My concern is with regard to the Date Alloted on the Stamp Paper. I would request you to kindly let me know,if a Person can purchase the Stamp paper of a Date and can enter into a Contract or any Agreement on the same Stamp Paper from retrospective Date.

if this is not valid,i would request you to apprise me with the Penal; Consequences of the same with regard to the proper sections as per Indian Stamp Act, 1899.

Your due response is much appreciable. Many thanks,

Thats impossible because a stamp paper is valid only from the date at which it is issued for a period of 6 months (not sure). This being the case, a retrospective agreement cannot be drafted on it which will make it invalid . REgarding the penal consequences let the others enlighten
