RC book retrieval from RTO.

Hi,my RC book and DL has been in the custody of the RTO and the traffic police respectively for almost two years now.It was regarding an accident and the case has been closed.Although I tried to get it back through the court,with the help of a lawyer,there is very little progress. What can I do to get my papers back. Please tell me ASAP :-/
