Queries about setting up a e-commerce company selling physic

Hi Everyone,

I'm starting a company which will be selling physical goods online. I want to bootstrap the company. So I have few queries:

1. I need to get my company registered and I need address proof for that. I stay in a rented apartment but I can't use it to register the company. I don't want to take an office space in the beginning. Taking a virtual office is a solution but they generally don't allow companies selling physical goods. This is the biggest hurdle for me now.

2. Is VAT and sales tax registration mandatory if I'm going to sell physical goods?

You need to incorporate a Company registered before the appropriate authority. You need a trade license with the registration of ST and Vat as you are dealing with tangible items over net. Consult a Company Lawyer in this matter.

Hi

Great to hear that you wish to start an e-commerce business in India.

However, do not forget to comply with Indian laws, especially cyber
law of India. Otherwise you may be in trouble.

Here are the answers to your questions:

(1) E-Commerce Laws And Regulations In India

(2) Legal Formalities Required For Starting E-Commerce Business In India

(3) Legal Requirements To Start An E-Commerce Website In India

If you need a reference for a law firm, you may contact Perry4Law.

Do not take the legal aspects lightly as many companies are prosecuted in India these days.

Hope this serves your purpose.
