Psu asking for new bond

I joined a PSU, at the time of joining I signed a bond of 50,000 for period of 50 months.

Now, the company is asking to submit new bond of 3,00,000 for period of 60 months. Can a company ask to submit new bond within the period of old bond

What is the ground and consideration for old and new bond?

Earlier the basic  was 16400 now they have increased it to 20600.

Can a company ask to sign a new bond when they once got the bond signed for 50 months

It is felt that companies can introduce conditions as deemed fit to suit its business interest. However the conditions should be reasonable. Company should be able to establish that company has invested funds on training adding to skill and qualification of the employee and period mentioned in the bond is justified to obtain returns.

Kindly go thru the advertisement for the post, offer letter, appointment letter, employee rule book/service rules, standing orders of the company and find if there are any rules of the company and  conditions which entails that there shall be a bond and bond period can be increased. Company might have supplied a circular/letter/email notifying the employees the reasons and purpose for adding to the conditions of the bond.

You can also show all these documents and bond to a competent and experienced service lawyer.

It was no where mentioned that bond amount could be increased. Now they have increased basic by 4000 and bond amount six times

Any bond applied by the company has to be accepted by the employee in writing.

If the new terms and conditions are not acceptable, you may state so in writing and decline to sign towards acceptance.

The approach of the company is unreasonable. Once you deny company may become rigid and may resort to tactics for termination of the contract.

If there are many employees like you, all of you may unite and be witness to each other. The matter can be reported to O/o Labor Commissioner.
