Can a company mention 6 months for probation period and if there is no extension, employee will be considered as a probationer till confirmation? Is it as per Indian labour law? If an employee completed 240 days working days without extension letter and confirmation letter, can he claim himself as a permanent employee?

In my case company mentioned 6 months probation period and after that they give confirmation letter, if not I will be on probation till the company issues d confirmation letter.
Also I worked for 259 days without probation extension letter, can I consider myself as a permanent employee?
Any judgements related to this?
