Pre employment medical during lockdown

As we all know that in current Corona Pandemic situation its unsafe to go to hospital or any Pathology lab for test except if its emergency. Can a company asks to Get Medical certificate or not allow joining ? Can they not relax and get the tests done when the person joins when the lockdown opens and condition is better? Please suggest, my new employer is adamant to get the tests done.

There is no hard and fast rule regarding this. It depends on mutual consideration. Try to convinence your employer using your personal skills. You may also request your employer to fix an appointment with their own selected hospital/ doctor where you can get the test done.

Since your medical check up is not an "emergency requirement" it is advisable not to go out unnecessarily and you may also get into unnecessary trouble for going out.
