Postmortem versus inquest

dear learned members,

if there is discrepancy between postmortem report and inquest report, which one is followed ? for example, postmortem indicates no injury, however inquest indicates injury. what does this mean in the first place ? and what bearing would this difference have on the case ?

pls suggest.

when there is contradiction among two evidences, other facts should be co-related.There may be different causes of death. Therefore a proper investigation,in most probability, would be ordered and further evidences may be corroborated.
