Post mcd

I had applied for a mutual consent divorce from my wife last year and six months later, got the decree. I'd like to know whether my ex-wife can create issues for me, specifically 498a now that the divorce has been finalised and we are no longer legally husband and wife. The reason for this query is cause my ex-wife and her family tried to lodge a 498a case against me and my family whilst there was discord between us and our families but they were unable to do so for certain reasons. However, I can't bank on them not being able to try to lodge a case again so I need to know where we stand.

Any info that is helfpul would be appreciated.

Hi...

498a is filed against the husband and his family ( if applies ) during the subsistence of marriage...It can't be filed after Divorce...
