PATTA

By way of a family settlement I own a house in chennai for whihc the patta is in my late father's name.  Is it necessary to apply for patta name transfer?

It is good to apply and obtain in your name.

however, if required for loan, it need to be verified by the bank officials...

yes.  along with death certificat and legal heir certificate.  Though it is not a titile to document. It is also one among to prove the same and to get beneifts from taluk and revenue offices

It's not a tough process. u can apply for it  with ur  father's death certificate, family settlement record  and legal heir certificate. u will get  PATTA in ur name within one week.

Hello Bharathi, Recently we (me and my husband) jointly bought a land in kundrathur and registered in Kundrathur reg office. May i know the concerned taluk office with address and the procedure to apply for patta name change. Thanks & Regards, Lakshmy
