Dear All,
Please help.
My brother received the passport after renewal thro' tatkal. In the mean time our local police station has called for the verification. A complaint is pending against us in the same police station. Its just a complaint, FIR yet to be filed. Can this leads to any problem like passport cancellation etc . What should my brother needs to do??? Please help

Filing of complaint in the police station is not a ground for cancellation of passport. Suppose the passport was issued 5 years ago and a complaint is filed now, will the police write to Passport Officer to cancel the passport? No way.
You are talking of complaint. There are hundreds of MPs, MLAs, corporators, businessmen apart from (sadhus, swamis involved in s*x scandals) against whom serious criminal cases are pending in courts (crimes like murder, rape, ransom, dacoity,, bribery and what not) and most of them are holding diplomatic passports and they are roaming the world.
Passport Officer cancels the passport if false information has been given in the application form and it is brought to his notice. Secondly, courts can impound the passport. Police can't.
