My passport is about to expire on March 2014. As far as I know, I can apply for re-issue only after April 2013.
I am planning to apply for US H1B VISA this year.
1) Should I apply for US Visa petition in April when the quota opens (April-2013), then apply for re-issue of passport before the petition gets approved (after april and before october), then use the new visa along with the old one for the VISA processing after petition approval.
2) Or should I wait for passport re-issue in april-2013 and then only apply for petition after getting the new passport? In this process, there can be a problem that the H1B quota gets filled and I dont get a chance to apply for VISA if the passport re-issue becomes late.
Please let me know which way is better. Or any other better idea if possible.
