Old 7/12 extract

Hi,

I belong to Maharashtra state and have been born and broughtup in Mumbai.

I am having few (around 12)old of 7/12 extracts which are manually noted by Talathi of Sangli dist. .  It mentions the name of my grandfather under  "kabjedar'" heading.  There are few more names who I am not aware of. The "Kshetra- Lavni" Layak  has diffrerent areas mentioned. On an average "Aker"  mentioned is 30 per 7/12 extrract. BUT, along with these 7/12 extracts there is one seperate page /form which seems to be a notice from talathi in marathi which mentions in handwritten marathi language that if  any one has a  claim or complaint against the sale of said lands (details of survey no mentioned in it) please contact talathi office withing 30 days of receiving this notice. The notice date is 20/11/1961. The notice  form also  has a "ferfar' number mentioned in it.

Below are my two  queries -

My grandfathers surname is different  in 7/12 extract which later changed. Any one of our relatives including my father and uncles have no clue of how the surname got changed. The change of surname must have taken place inearly 19th Century.  Now, how do I prove that the old surname was my grandfathers?

Can I have a claim the land on basis of these old 7/12 extracts. Please note that I checked all the survey nos online and found that the name in 7/12 has been changed to some "Patils".

Thanks.
