Non-occupied tents right

I am having rented house in Pune Maharashtra since last 45 year's.  The landlord has given the building for joint development to builder.  Therefore, before receiving the notice to vacate for demolition, I made alternate arrangements and moved from rented premises.  The Promotor was issuing the rent receipt till July 2011.

The Promotor has stopped accepting payment from non-occupying tents from August 2011.  Therefore, I have sent the rent by Money Order, which the promotor may not accept.

Can the promotor refuse my claim as a Tenant under latest Maharashtra Rent Control Act as it is not occupied for more than 6 months !!

Please advise.
