A plot of land is situated between my house and that of my neighbor's. My neighbor offers to pay Rs. 60000/- in cash to the seller. No dispute exists as to the land in question. As plaintiff, i pay part-payment (i.e. half cash & half check). Shortly afterwards my neighbor tries to use duress on me to sell him that land. What legal remedy do I have available for protection of my rights as a property buyer?
Ought I file a police complaint? And if so, on what grounds?
