Maintenance to father

Hi Team

Myself Vikram(27) living in Bangalore along with my mother. Recently we got to know that my father is married to another women after 6 years of my birth. He has not divorced my mother yet. He has a daughter of age 19 from other wife. Right now he is living with his second wife from past 16 months. May be he has some plans to get his daughter married in coming years , hence he left us and is living with his second family. I want to know is there any possibility for him to lodge a case on me for Jeevanamsam? If yes, how many cases I can lodge for cheating my mother? He has also lost many properties given by my mother's side and harassed my mother for more dowry.

Kindly help me on your valuable suggestions.

Regards

Vikram

If your father is not having any source of income to support his own needs to carry out routine works of day to day affairs, he can seek maintenance from his earning children (or sons), the quantum of maintenance depends upon the situation.  About his bigamy, your mother can file a criminal complaint against him for the offences of bigamy and also for dowry harassment and domestic violence case also.  contact a local lawyer and go ahead.
