Lawyer fees

I am encountering a  matrimonial dispute for quite some time now and i require the services of a legal advisor at the earliest. One of my colleagues at my office has mentioned that if i consult an advocate at any court premise, i am not required to pay any consultation fees? Is this right? Second if i consult an advocate at his chamber, am i to pay for consultation each time i meet him or only for the first time? I will also like to know the approximate rate of drafting legal notices by advocates and the amount involved in filing cases by an advocate in the court on behalf of clients? Let's say for senior who are associated with sessions court of a city. My financial constraints require me to know these details.

No lawyer would give you in chamber consultation without consultation fees. If your friend has told you otherwise then he is living in a fool's paradise. Whether or not you would have to pay consultation fees everytime you consult with him would depend upon the lawyer. As regards the fees, it varies from one lawyer to another be it at Sessions Court or Supreme Court.
