Inter-caste marriage property distribution

Hi Sir,

My family is of four people & I am the elder son. My parents are of from different religion i.e., dad -Muslim / mom –Christian and we all are staying together for about 30years. But they are not legally married (not a registered marriage). Both my parents are state government employees and most of their savings (Fixed Deposits/Landed property.. etc ) are made on individual names. I’ve been brought up as a Christian and I am holding my mother’s surname. Please help to understand whether my mom or myself are eligible to inherit my Dad’s property, if so then; what are the required actions.

And one more thing is my Surname is having a mismatch with my mother’s i.e., XXXX is written as XXXH. In case of some unknown urgency, I need to access my mom’s properties like House, FD & …  , will this be an issue, if so then; what should I do. I like to give least preference of changing my surname now.
