Indian passport alias name proof document

A relative of mine had recently applied for a Fresh Indian Passport, in which she selected the option of, "Whether you are known by any other names (alias)? and answered yes with her other name which is mentioned in her 10th standard marksheet which was later changed because it had a typo error. She has the Notary affidavit stating that the person with both these names is the same person and has the newspaper publication done too. Now at the PSK she was asked for a gazetted publication, however gazette publication are only allowed for Change of name cases and not for the Alias name case. What should be done in this case?
